Shower door widths are nominal, and the actual measurement is typically a bit smaller than the stated size to accommodate tiles or wall coverings inside the shower. Be sure to check the Minimum and Maximum Adjustment values to ensure the door fits the finished space properly.

How to Measure for the Right Shower Door Fit

1. Measure the Width of Your Shower Opening

Measure the width at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement to determine the width of the shower door, as the walls may not be perfectly straight.

2. Check the Height of the Opening

Measure from the base of the shower floor or tray to the desired height. Standard doors are typically around 1950mm, but make sure the door height suits your space.

3. Note Adjustment Tolerance

Compare your measurements to the shower door’s adjustment range. For example, if your opening width is 965mm, a door with a 950-980mm adjustment range would fit well.

4. Choose the Right Tray

Match the tray size to the nominal door width for a consistent look. For instance, a 1000mm nominal door fits well with a 1000mm tray.
